I really liked hearing abou the Essentials Word kit in SPANISH. There are not many places that sell good quality spanish supplies, so I am very thankful. Our school has ordered it and I can’t wait to get it this week to try it out with my low readers. YEAH!

I really enjoyed reading the article “Dyslexia in the Classroom” because I work with students who are dyslexic and any extra information I can get my hands on is a big help!

I like any of the articles about staying organized. I have picked up a lot of little tips from reading this and especially like ideas about how to use the stuff I collect to teach students (such as postcards).

The transcript you posted on the chat about STRESS! Hard to pick one, but I think that one tops it!

I enjoyed both the Dyslexia article and the discussion on stress. I have a special education classroom and we use a number of things to cope with stress that range from individual sensory items to group relaxation techniques. I like to first have them pretend to be ice statutes and then have them melt into puddles on the floor. We have also done deep breathing and stretching exercises. Love the chimes idea!
The reminder about Dyslexia is always helpful – I generally think can’t not won’t and I get tired of hearing that a student mixes up b,d,p,and q so does that mean that they are dyslexic.

One article that helped me A LOT was the “7 Student Teaching Survival Tips!” I student taught this past winter, and your article came out just in time! I absolutely LOVED my cooperating teacher; she was truly an inspiration and the type of teacher I strive to be. If it weren’t for her excellent guidance, I would not be in my own classroom today! I still try to follow all these tips; even #1 still applies as I am open to suggestions from my fellow teachers. You can ALWAYS do something better!!!
Congrats on reaching 1,000!

loved the article about tips for organizing teaching supplies. I love to be organized, so some of these tips really inspired me. I use a small hanging pocket chart to help me and my students to keep our small supplies handy and in one place. No more loose paper clips or push pins laying around. Their great for staples or small scissors, markers, pencils or just about anything you can think of.
