I loved the fact that the final Olympic Torch Bearers were not famous athletes, but rather young athletes who were just starting out on their journey. They represent the future, just as the students in our classrooms do.

Basketball is number one for me as I am just a huge overall basketball fan. Woman’s gymnastics is always fun to watch too. I like the Summer Olympics more because well we don’t have much Winter here in Florida. LOL

I like to watch any of the Olympics. It is all enjoyable. My favorite sport to watch is the gymnastics. They amaze me. All of them are so strong and focused. Summer is my favorite games to watch.

I absolutely love the Summer Olympics- particularly swimming, diving, and gymnastics. It is always so much fun to watch, and hard to believe that people can twist their bodies in the ways that they do. It always seems so graceful. I only wish I had cable so I could actually watch this year!

I like to watch anything about swimming, the synchronized swimming to the racing to the diving, even water polo.

I enjoy the opening ceremonies because these honor every participant regardless of how they place in the actual athletic event. The beauty of seeing diversity and celebrating peacefully the diversity found in the world is my favorite part of the Olympics.

I love all the parts of the Olympics. I especially love it now that I have been to the Olympics. I live in Salt Lake City and enjoyed being involved. Now it is the nostalgia that draws me to the Olympics.

What is your favorite part of the Olympics and why?
I love the Opening Ceremonies but my favorite part are the medal ceremonies. They are my favorite because watching the Olympians standing there, knowing they are the best IN THE WORLD, most of them with tears in their eyes makes me want to be better.
Do you prefer the summer or winter games?
I like them both equally. You only get to see each every four years, that makes it special. Unlike American sports that are on all the time. You get to see the world at its best during both games.
What is your favorite Olympic sport?
In the summer gymnastics, soccer and diving. In the winter ice skating and hockey.

I love the USA!!! I love the Olympics!!!! Go TEAM USA…. My favorites parts are the opening ceremony & the medal ceremonies. When Team USA enters the parade of athletes… I get so excited!!! I still get goosebumps when the National Anthem is played as our celebrated athlete stands on the podium wearing their hard-earned medal!!! My classroom theme is “Team USA” this year!!!

I like watching gymnastics. It’s amazing how their bodies flip and fly like they do. This is the first year I’ve watched table tennis. I thought I was good, but WOW I can’t even follow the ball sometimes!

I enjoy the Opening Ceremonies. It is fun to see how many athletes each nation has, and the production of the show is outstanding each time. I would have to say that I like both Summer and Winter Olympics equally. My favorite Summer sports are synchronized swimming, competitive swimming, and gymnastics. My favorite Winter sports are ice skating and hockey. Go U.S.A.!!!

I LOVE the Summer and Winter Olympics! My favorite part of the Olympics is the Opening Ceremonies. It is wonderful to watch the athletes from all the countries walking in under their flags. The smiles on their faces show the pride in their countries. Even if they don’t medal the athletes have the honor of saying they are Olympians. I also love watching the volunteers performing in the Opening Ceremonies. Those volunteers want the world to see how beautiful their country is. My favorite summer sport is gymnastics, even rhythmic. During the Winter Olympics, I watch the figure skating. When it is the Winter Olympics, I set up a bulletin board in my school that keeps a medal count of each country. This gives the students a chance to find lesser known countries and to have pride in the USA. The Summer and Winter Olympics allows the world to compete peacefully.

I love many things about the Olympics, but I think my favorite is the parade of Nations. I love seeing all of the flags and thinking that anything can happen over the next 2+ weeks.

I love watching the summer games, especially the gymnastics and swimming events. I love the winter games because then I can do special things in my classroom with the kids and make learning games so they can ‘compete’ in brain and movement activities.
I would love to win the Hooray for the USA set because it’s going to be great for November with the presidential elections coming up! I just started my unit on it this week.

Like to watch the diving and track and field events during the summer games, but prefer the winter sports with hockey, speed skating, skiing, etc. Go USA!

I love the summer Olympics. There’s more time to enjoy (since we don’t have school!) and to share it with our son. We are inspired by the dedication of the athletes ability to put aside country differences by rooting others on and shaking hands. I especially love the gymnastics portion having done gymnastics as a child. Mostly, it is a clear sign of our country coming together to support top athletes.

I love to watch the gymnastics and tennis. It is just fun to watch. I like both the winter and summer Olympics. However in the winter you can bring the olympics more into the classroom.

hi Brandi,
First I love the Olympics. I would have to say I prefer Summer over Winter, however I have my favorite events in each. This Olympics its the swimming (but it might be because it is one of the first events of the competition). I love sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see who wins.

I love learning about the people and their families who have worked hard and came together to support these amazing athletes.

I love both Olympics, but think I actually enjoy the Winter Olympics more. I love the ice skating, the skiing, the bobsledding! I think it’s so exciting. I think I also like the fact that the Winter Olympics happen while school is in session and I can share my excitement with my students. We can graph the results (medal counts) and can make predictions about events too.

I love the opening ceremonies best! Many people complained about these, but I thought they were fabulous. Having kids partipate throughout was soemthing those kids will never forget and I loved, loved, loved the children’s literature segment. Summer Olympics are my favorite because I like to watch the swimmers and gymnasts. Swimming has become my favorite sport because of Michael phelps!

I love both Olympics because I love sports. My all time favorite is gymnastics. I flip through all the channels to watch as many events as I can because there ar
E so many sports events that I never get to see. By the way I am doing a USA theme back to school and am going to ask my students to dress in red white and blue on our fiRst day of school.

I love the way that the problems of the world seem to vanish as soon as the torch is lit, and the olympians capture the hearts of millions. It is 17 days of pure love of the games. I enjoy both the summer and winter olympics. My favorite events are gymnastics and hockey, respectively.

I love the Opening Ceremonies but my favorite part are the medal ceremonies. I also enjoy the closing ceremony because that is where the next host country takes responsibility for the Olympic flame.

I love the stories from the athletes as they retrace their path to the world’s grandest stage. It’s amazing to see athletes that came from very little and faced great adversity to get where they are today. The best examples of this can be seen from the independent athletes. I am lucky enough to know a Sudan refuge named Gour who escaped to New Hampshire after his family was killed. While he is not likely to win at the Olympics, he is able to share his story and fulfill a dream. I like the Summer Olympics better mostly because I’m a huge fan of soccer. Despite the USA men not making the tournament, there have already been some fun soccer to watch and I look forward to many more. The biggest shame of this event is that it doesn’t make place during the school year because there are so many lessons that could be integrated into the classroom. I’m thinking of everything from politics and geography to sportsmanship and national pride.

My favorite sport and part of the Olympics would be either the swimming, diving, or gymnastics. I like the quickness of the swimming and the beaty of the gynastics. Some of the dives are so graceful. I do love the summer olympics more than the winter olympics if push comes to shove.

I love the Olympics in general because of how it brings everyone together. I would say I prefer the summer Olympics over the winter, but can be drawn in by any good story. I remember going to the Olympics as a kid when they were in Atlanta and just being amazed by the whole experience. We were fortunate enough to get tickets to the gold medal women’s soccer game that year – and the USA won! It is one of those memories that will never go away! Now I really enjoy watching soccer and gymnastics (it’s amazing what they can do!)

My favorite part of the Olympics is when the medal winners stand on the podium and their country anthem is played. The athlete has such pride, it just gives me chills! I prefer the Summer Games, I[‘m from Georgia and I like the sports in the Summer Games the best. My favorite Olympic sport is gymnastics, they have so much power and strength.

My favorite part of the Olympics is watching the winners on the podium as their national anthem is played. Some sing the words, some shed tears, but all show pride in the country they are representing. No matter what country they come from, the emotions are the same. We may be different from each other, but we are alike as well. I like the winter games the best. I love watching the figure skating contests, especially the pairs, the snowboarding and skiing events. I live where there is lots of snow and we’ve participated in these sports all my life. It is great watching professionals.
