Picture This: An Easily-Organized Classroom

I like using photos to help organize and systematize my classroom supplies. My kids have cabinets within their reach where we keep classroom supplies such as extra pencils, erasers, tissues, indoor recess games, etc.
In the beginning of the year, I organize each shelf and take a photo of each one. I then tape each photo to the inside of the door of the cupboard it illustrates. Kids refer to the photos when taking and replacing supplies.

This is a fantastic idea! I try to keep things organized but no matter how many bins, baskets, etc. I have out they seem to get messy! Thanks!

I bet that saves you a lot of time and lots fewer questions.

This is a great idea! My kids can never remember where they found something, and I spend so much time putting things away! What a time saver!

Great Idea! I don’t have trouble organizing things, it’s keeping them that way. Things never get put back the way they were. This should definitely help!

I am also terrible at keeping things organized! I am going to try this. It would help my students, assistant, and myself stay organized. Thanks for the idea!

I love the photo idea. This will help the kiddos become more responsible for the classroom. Great way to give them ownership. Thanks!

I love this idea! I am often my biggest enemy in organization & I think this would be a big help to me and the kids.

I love the idea of having a picture of how a cabinet or shelf is supposed to look! That shows the students how to keep the room straight and will also help them learn how to be a tidier person – which the can hopefully carry outside the classroom and keep their house and their room tidy and straight as well! Thanks for sharing!

This is such a great idea. My students are always in a rush and just place items wherever they want. Later on they always complain that things are missing. This would be a great visual reminder for them during clean up and transition times!

Like manyy of you, I lack in the area of organization.
This, however, is an excellent and easy-to-implement idea. Thanks.

I love these shelves! What a great way to organize materials. I am always looking for new ways to organize and manage classroom materials. I’m thinking that these shelves may need to be part of my “August splurge”!

What a great idea! So many of my students are visual learners and this should help them stay organized and on task.
