Putting Learning to Music

Instead of fighting for their attention, integrate music into your lessons. We have compiled a list of five great YouTube and TeacherTube videos that help you do just that. As always, preview them first before you show them to your students.
Fraction Rap This math rap video was created by a teacher to give her students a way to remember the rules of fractions. The Water Cycle A fun song to help students remember the water cycle. Area and Perimeter Rap Quick and fun, this teacher created and performed rap is a helpful way for students to remember the difference between finding the area and the perimeter. Months of the Year This is one of the easiest songs to use with young children to help them remember the months of the year. You will even catch yourself singing or humming it when school is over! Days of the Week Students will love the tune and the fact that they get to clap during the song!

These videos are great! Thank you! Kids do learn so much more when they can put what they are learning to music – it just seems to stick in their minds easier! Something I have been meaning to do is find videos like this that follow the standards!

I really liked the months of the year song. I find that my students tend to remember things better when they are used to singing them to a tune. Thanks for sharing.
