Putting Learning to Music

There is no denying that music lyrics are easier to memorize than some of the basic facts that your students are asked to remember.  Instead of fighting for their attention, integrate music into your lessons.  We have compiled a list of five great YouTube and TeacherTube videos that help you do just that.  As always, preview them first before you show them to your students.

Fraction Rap

This math rap video was created by a teacher to give her students a way to remember the rules of fractions.

The Water Cycle

A fun song to help students remember the water cycle.

Area and Perimeter Rap

Quick and fun, this teacher created and performed rap is a helpful way for students to remember the difference between finding the area and the perimeter.

Months of the Year

This is one of the easiest songs to use with young children to help them remember the months of the year.  You will even catch yourself singing or humming it when school is over!

Days of the Week

Students will love the tune and the fact that they get to clap during the song!
