What’s On Your Summer Bucket List?

Have you ever noticed that you get more done when you have a plan?  Planning begins with thinking about what you want to do and then writing it down.  Some people write down all of the things they would like to do during their entire lifetime and call it their “Bucket List”.  What’s on your Bucket List for the summer?  What do you have planned to do?

Share one thing from your summer Bucket List below before 11:59pm EST today, July 7, 2012, and be entered to win a Really Good Storage Pail.  Not only will it help you keep your classroom supplies organized, it will be a great reminder of all of the things you crossed off your Bucket (or pail!) List this summer.  One random winner will be selected and announced on Really Good Stuff’s Facebook page on Sunday, July 8th.  Not a Facebook fan yet?  “Like” us today!

I have three things on my bucket list this summer. 1- Read a lot, and blog about what I read. 2- Go tubing on a local river. 3- Find a job! The first two are more realistic.

I am looking forward to relaxing and waiting for my really good stuff order for my classroom! We are beginning a new Common Core Math Curriculum this fall and I ordered lots of goodies through my school from your catalogue. Of course a few buckets like you have pictured to help my students become more organized by having their materials right at their finger tips. I have a new classroom arrangement where the students can work in groups of 4 and have their cubbie bookcases at the end of each grouping. Can't wait to get it all togehter and show it off!

Last year I made a summer bucket list and checked things off as I accomplished them. This year I did not do that per say , because I had a workshop a few days after school ended introducing us to a new reading program that this being used this coming year by our district. I immediately made my #1 priority for the summer to reorganizing my room, from classroom layout to classroom management, switching from whole group reading instruction to small guided reading reading groups, and reading what I can to be sure that I feel comfortable and confident with the new program when school starts in Sept. After 30 years of teaching, it seems I will be making a full circle in my teaching style and everything old is new again!
