Last year I made a summer bucket list and checked things off as I accomplished them. This year I did not do that per say , because I had a workshop a few days after school ended introducing us to a new reading program that this being used this coming year by our district. I immediately made my #1 priority for the summer to reorganizing my room, from classroom layout to classroom management, switching from whole group reading instruction to small guided reading reading groups, and reading what I can to be sure that I feel comfortable and confident with the new program when school starts in Sept. After 30 years of teaching, it seems I will be making a full circle in my teaching style and everything old is new again!
