Ah, summer….the season of ice cream, fireworks, and the question every parent dreads – “Are we there yet?”  This year, curb that typical road trip question by putting together some quick and easy Summer Road Trip Bags.  Use your current teaching supplies, some Internet resources, and some inexpensive supplies to create a new bag for each day of travel.  Let’s get started!

What to Put in Your Road Trip Activity Bag

Wild Words

Word work has never been so much fun!  Have children practice spelling words they see as you drive or give them a list of Dolch sight words that are on their level.

Include:  A magnetic dry erase board, a dry erase marker or crayon, magnetic letters or letter tiles, a list of words

Hint:  Print out these Dolch Sight Word Lists and slide them into a page protector.
