Our Product Development team of former teachers works hard at making products that bring lessons to life and make teachers’ lives a little easier. That’s why we were psyched to hear that four of our products won 2020 Learning® magazine Teachers’ Choice Awards! We asked our Product Development team why they created each product, and we’ve put a list of all of our past awards (including items you can shop!) below.
Thanks so much to teachers like you for continuing to support Really Good Stuff!

“When designing this product, I wanted to keep in mind the age and skill level of the students who would be using it (five-year-olds),” says Erika Silano, former Kindergarten teacher and current Product Development & Content Manager at Really Good Stuff. “It was important to make it manageable, yet playful, with all the cars, and it was important to make it a product a teacher would actually want to take out for her students to use. The boards are color-coded with the cars and there are extra storage bags included for easy cleanup and organization. The cars are labeled with pictures on the bottom so students can check their own work, and there are very simple directions.”
Secret Sight Words™ Activity, $24.99. CLICK TO SHOP >>
“Oh, I do love this product! The inspiration for this came from me seeing that teachers were using soda bottle lids and writing letters on them,” says Angela French, former K-5 teacher and current Senior Product Development & Content Manager at Really Good Stuff. “I thought, ‘I bet kids love this because it is something different!’ I liked the task of matching letters to beginning sounds of pictures. Since sight words are so important, it was like a marriage made in heaven! And, because we try to always include a self-check aspect to make it easier for the students to know if they are doing the task correctly, I added pictures on the backs of the letter chips! This serves other purposes as well; students can spell their names with pictures, or you can differentiate the sight word activity, for those struggling students, to start with the picture first, then move to the word.”
Build-A-Word-Family Activity, $18.99. CLICK TO SHOP >>
“When I had my own classroom, I used word families constantly! My weekly spelling tests were always based on word families,” says Angela. “If you can spell dog, then you should be able to spell log. Giving a header of the rime allows students to simply add the onset. When they understand this, it builds their fluency and spelling abilities. With this activity, there are four word families for each of the five vowels. When creating products, whether for math or ELA, we always make sure we represent the spread of letters or numbers. This activity is also self-checking, so it is great for independent work!”
Beginning Long Division Dry Erase Boards – Teacher and Students Kit, $28.99. CLICK TO SHOP >>
“I never considered myself good at math,” says Angela. “I was that student that needed the extra guidance and needed to see step-by-step how to solve problems. With the color-coding ability that we have to print on dry erase boards, it was a no-brainer. So students simply follow the color-coding to help them visualize carrying, moving down, etc.! Even the artist who worked on this product, Erin, said she wished she had tools like this when she was in school! Anything that we can do to build math confidence is awesome in my book!”
