Those who do not teach, or have family members who teach, just don’t understand that most of us spend our summer months preparing for the next school year. We reflect on what worked well, and what needs to be changed. We take classes and read books. We research on the Internet. We gather materials and decorations. We monitor reading blogs. We do all these things to make sure that each year, we return to school a better teacher than we were the year before, and to make the school year workload more manageable.
