Well in kindergarten we are all about routines and procedures. Thankfully we have three weeks during summer school to get them familiar with these. Our morning routine is probably most important, it sets the tone for the day.
I see my kiddos once a week as a specialist. My first 2 weeks is spent on classroom routines.
– How we enter the room
-How we begin class
-Review of bathroom procedure (we have a school wide procedure)

Materials Routine ( Passing and collecting)
One of my must-have classroom routines is morning procedures. All homework/papers are to be turned in, new homework is written in their agendas, lunch choice made, pencils sharpened, all materials ready for when it is time to switch classes, etc.
My classroom routines include walking into the room quietly (if not silently), what to do/how to do morning work, lining up, coming to the carpet, and centers. There are probably others, but these are foremost important to me.
My must have routines are morning unpacking(where to put homework, doing morning work), bathroom signals, lining up for transitions, and replacing pencils. There must be some structure to your daily routines.
