What’s on your summer reading list (professional development or fiction)?

Responsive Classroom- The First Six Weeks of School. Great for establishing routines and getting students adjusted to the daily schedule and classroom expectations!

I’ve read ‘What Great Teachers Do Differently – 17 Things That Matter Most’. It has a lot of great reminders of things we can do that are within our control to make teaching better for us and our students. Of course, no one is perfect but we can always strive to do better.

I ready both Me before You and After You. Loved them both. I am in the process of listening to The Last Star, it’s the final book in the 5th Wave Trilogy.

Just finished both Zoo and Zoo 2 by James Patterson …. needed some cheesy, mindless fun! It leant for some interesting thoughts about what could be! Great beach read for me.

I am with Toni on Karen Kingsbury books. Love them! I usually reread The First Days of School just to prep my mind for the first day of school.

I am reading Facebook. 🙂 I have been able to connect with teachers from all over the place through different pages on Facebook. We share ideas, resources, tips, etc. Who better to learn from than other teachers who are implementing the ideas, resources, etc. that you are interested in?

I am reading Angela Watson’s 40 Hour Teacher Workweek Club materials on getting more organized, and enjoying all the helpful information. I need all the help I can get, and never tire of learning how to be a better teacher. For non-school-related fun reading, I’m reading short stories by Maeve Binchy, one of my favorite authors.
