Have you been reading and discussing a special book with your class or school book club? If so, you may be interested in the opportunity to have an author visit and talk with the students – via Skype. Thanks for this cool list; I love making contact with authors and letting them in on how the lesson with their book went and what my kids had to say about it.
We also use Skype to connect with and our soldiers overseas. It’s a win-win because our students get to ask questions and the soldiers get to be “home” just for a little bit!

Thank you so much for this resource! What a great way to have students ask the author questions about the characters and story lines they chose to write about. 🙂

I’ve never used Skype, but my school just got a new laptop cart and all the laptops have webcams, so I might want to do this next year! Thanks so much for the resource.

I love Skype. Thank you so much for the resource list. I will try and use that this year for sure. My students were able to meet with an author this past year, but only in a large group setting. I look forward to trying this out 🙂
